Emmet Collins – Here’s to the future

Origins

I come from a small place

In a small country

Where rain falls endlessly

Where dust sets upon the never ending roads

I come from a violent town

Riots, bomb scares and loss of life

My ancestors come from a small place

In a small country

Where disease once spread

Throughout fields

Killing their main satisfies

Where my ancestors searched,

Determined to find

A way, to stay alive

By Oran Ramsey

A Sunny day in Derry

I felt great as I got off to a perfect day.

A sun shining bright within my head

The sky is a grand picturesque scene in all its wonderful glory.

Trees outlined in the street by houses overshadowed in light

Patrick Travers

Dedicated to my granny vonnie born 1946-died 2009

Here’s to the future

There’s always that one person, on whom we all agree to say,

that is loved by someone in they’re own special way.

Always the one with the laughter,

the one with the big smile,

the one who’s there to help you through the bad times .

I always say I forgive but never forget,

So heres to the future grab it by the neck,

so when you’re feeling down and when you’re feeling low ,

just think of the person in your heart that made it glow,

so think of the future and forget about the past

and most important make your life a blast!
